In episode, we review a group of cards from Judgement that may be terrible but also may make their way into one old man's group hug EDH deck. Sometimes terrible makes for great fun at the kitchen table. We also discuss a recent price spike in a reserved list Exodus card and review some old-frame fog spells for Alex to use to beef up his defense. We hope you enjoy.

Welcome back to the podcast everybody. In this episode, we review some vintage cardboard that is now cheaper just eight months after being reprinted in Double Masters 2022 and we take a quick look at some recent variations of The Rock in Premodern. More Rock you say? Yes. But just a little bit more. Did the Phyrexian Rager fix everything? Should I try Nantuko Cultivator? We hope you enjoy.

Our Introduction to The Rock | The Old Men Magic Podcast Ep. 30
Saturday Mar 18, 2023
Saturday Mar 18, 2023
We start off this episode of The Old Men Magic Podcast slack-jawed and dumbfounded as we realize that an enter the battlefield creature we featured in episode 29 is not even an enter the battlefield creature. Nevertheless, we soldiered on to bring you a banger of an episode where fellow YouTuber Tong Zou explains to us how to turn 1 kill your opponent with Phyrexian Marauder (plus a few modern cards), we learn about the origins of The Rock, as constructed by Jelger Wiegersma, and I start to build the mana base for my first ever cEDH (casual EDH. That is what cEDH stands for on The Old Men Magic Podcast) Commander deck. We hope you enjoy.

After some follow-ups to last episode and a brief discussion of some market moves (anyone out there playing Leeches?), we conclude our review of the enter the battlefield creatures from Visions. Some are about as useful as I remembered, some may be better, and one in particular is still very confusing to me. We end this weeks episode in the Old Men Magic Commander corner, where we discuss this weeks additions and I officially name my deck. Nobody cares about that other than me but I still devoted a segment to it.

Yes we have talked about Uktabi Orangutan roughly 10 times on the podcast already and yes we are talking about it again. Can't stop won't stop. Today we review some of my favorites creatures from Visions: the enter the battlefield creatures. They are cheap and they are heaps useful. We also discuss some recent news in the world of plastic-slabbed, graded, collectible cardboard. I say, free the cardboard! Crack that slab baby. Just don't nick an edge or you'll knock half the price off of that Alpha rare. Finally, we reveal some recent additions to our first Commander decks, which are coming along nicely if i do say so myself. I do say that. Others are saying that as well.
